OASIS’s Family Justice Advocate coordinates and oversees our Judicial Systems Services, providing comprehensive legal advocacy and court-related support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Judicial Advocacy
Program services include:
- Assisting with the filing of Domestic Violence Protective Orders (DVPOs) and restraining orders
- Providing legal referrals and support navigating the civil and criminal court systems
- Supporting local university students in navigating the Title IX Office of Compliance process
- Assisting with PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) reporting
- Supporting survivors during law enforcement interviews
- Providing court accompaniment and ongoing systems advocacy
- Co-facilitating SART/DART (Sexual Assault Response Team / Domestic Abuse Response Team) community meetings in partnership with the Community Healthcare Advocate
All OASIS staff are trained in judicial systems advocacy to ensure survivors receive informed, coordinated support across programs.
