Volunteers

We want to thank our volunteers and interns for all the amazing work they do for our organization!

Every day of the workweek, we have multiple volunteers that come to us and put in their time and effort to support the mission of OASIS. They receive the training necessary to answer calls, create outreach materials, assist with donations, connect clients with services, and so much more! It’s no exaggeration to say that we’d be lost without community volunteers and interns. Thank you so much for all you do for OASIS, the survivors we serve, and our community!

Since 1978, OASIS, Inc. volunteers have been providing crisis intervention and support for victims of domestic and sexual violence. Volunteers make it possible for OASIS to be available to support victims and survivors 24-hours a day, 365 days per year. Volunteer options are listed to the right.

OASIS asks for a 6 month commitment from volunteers.

Volunteers must get a background check prior to volunteering. This costs approximately $20. OASIS asks that volunteers pay for this if possible.

Office Volunteer:

An Office volunteer provide administrative support during normal business hours (8am to 5pm, Monday-Friday). Duties include data entry, translation, copying, answering phones, accepting and organizing donations, cleaning, mail pick up and drop off, posting flyers, and other special projects. Office volunteers receive a training packet and individual training. OASIS asks an office volunteer to commit to at least 2 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months

Childcare Volunteer:

Childcare Volunteers are on-call or as-needed volunteers who are available to provide emergency or scheduled childcare in the office, hospital or court/Magistrate’s Office so that staff can provide services to a parent in need of advocacy and safety planning. Childcare Volunteers develop a training plan with staff and are asked to commit to at least six months of service.

Translation Volunteer:

OASIS is seeking fluent Spanish speakers to help as we translate important documents for our Spanish-speaking clients. This volunteer opportunity requires a different time commitment than other opportunities.
